C’est aujourd’hui, mardi 14 octobre, que Warner Bros rend disponible le coffret The Ultimate Matrix Collection au format Blu-ray. Alors que le coffret HD DVD, sorti en mai 2007, comportait quatre disques doubles faces, nous avons droit ici à sept disques, à savoir quatre disques Blu-ray (pour les quatre films et quelques suppléments) et trois DVD (dont un double face, pour la copie numérique et le reste des suppléments). La principale différence avec le coffret HD DVD, est que le film The Animatrix est cette fois-ci présenté en haute définition 1080p, et que l’ensemble contient une copie numérique du premier film seulement, en anglais.

Pour le reste, les suppléments sont identiques aux coffrets DVD et HD DVD et sont toujours en définition standard. Et sachez que s’il y a certainement bien 35 heures de suppléments, c’est que l’on y compte les nombreuses pistes de commentaires pleine durée, qui représentent à elles seules près de 24 heures de suppléments!
